30% of the Indian populations, who live below the poverty
line, have to get redefined with the new Rangarajan committee. As they are
deciding the minimum expenditure bars to establish the poverty slab.
Those spending Rs 32 a day in
rural areas and Rs 47 in towns and cities may now be the new BPL (Below Poverty
Line) category as stated by the committee.
