WLCI Business School takes a look at the current food and retail inflation. The subdued prices of vegetables, cereals and dairy products pushed down retail inflation to a three-month low of 8.28 per cent in May.

The retail inflation, measured on consumer price index (CPI), was 8.59 per cent in April.

Paycheck India, a website run by IIM Ahmedabad’s professor Biju Varkkey has listed the salaries of most influential political leaders around the world. According to the website, Modi takes home Rs 1.6 lakh per month (Rs 19.2 lakh annually), which makes him one of the most modestly paid political leaders in the world.

Russia's prime minister earns the highest — a whopping Rs 1.6 crore per month, which is higher than Obama's Rs 19 lakh per month.

RBI KYC Norms – Reviewed by WLCI

WLCI Business School Reviews the KYC norms for opening bank accounts.     

The Reserve Bank of India on Monday relaxed know-your-customer (KYC) guidelines for opening bank accounts, a move that will provide relief to migrant workers, student and persons with transferable jobs. The central bank has directed banks to accept only one address proof which either may be current or permanent.

If a customer is residing away from his permanent residence, he can provide a simple declaration with details of his new address. The new address may be verified via 'positive confirmation' such as acknowledgment of receipt of ATM cards, cheque books, letters, telephonic conversations and visits.

Google Chrome v/s Internet Explorer

This is the first time ever that Google has surpassed Microsoft in terms of browser popularity for overall mobile and desktop software ! 
  
Recently Google Chrome emerged as the more popular browser than Internet Explorer. The disparity between the two platforms can be largely traced back to both Microsoft's grip on traditional computers and Google's consistent interface across multiple mobile devices.

Most popular products in India have been reported as - Cars and Mobile Phones - as per the Business Standard. It is no surprise that mobiles and automobiles are the top products in the launch list too. 

 

Consumer durables, the well-researched products in the market, fair less well on the list because nobody gets as excited about buying a new brand of shampoo or toothpaste as compared to a Samsung S5 or a Ford Eco Sport. 

Thus, automobile car manufacturers and mobile phone giants are all eyeing the lucrative Indian Market for further expansion.
